I am delighted to share with you the fabulous wedding of Kellie Machlus to Zach Rotfus. I started working with Kellie last summer for her August 14th, 2011 wedding to the dashing Zach. Kellie was very organized from day one and wanted to use a color palette of vibrant burnt orange and red to pop against the gorgeous ivory dress she was planning on wearing and the black dresses of her bridesmaids.
For her invitation collection, we went with an offset black press run printed by Katy Printers on a heavy cotton creme paper with a delicate black and creme floral yuzen paper on the back of the pieces and used persimmon as the accent color for her envelope liner and her festivities card. Her collection is one of the most popular in my boutique at the moment!
Kellie chose a beautiful beaded wedding gown from David’s Bridal, a Galina Signature Dress. She had sent me a picture early on last Fall when she was trying it on.. I told her she looked like a Greek Goddess… it is just lovely. I love all of the detail work and beading and the way the fabric gathers.
Their wedding was held at Temple Beth El in Norfolk, Virginia followed by a festive reception at the Lesner Inn in Virginia Beach. Her photographer, the fantastic Valerie Demo of Valerie Demo Photography is the eye behind all of these inviting photographs. Valerie is based out of Virginia Beach but covers weddings across the country. Her work is just amazing and I have really enjoyed getting to know her. I would highly recommend her to any of my East Coast brides.
I love all of the details of their wedding, the vibrant red of the flowers against the cake and the bridesmaid dresses… as well as Kellie’s gorgeous bouquet, all floral designs and centerpieces created by Palette of Petals. They did such a wonderful job….
Some of my favorite images that Valerie captured are just the details of the day… I can’t even begin to tell you how rewarding it is work in an industry where you are part of a couples big day. I am just thrilled for Kellie and Zach and their new life together in Boston.
To end this gorgeous wedding, I just have to showcase Zach’s cufflinks….. I just giggle when I see them.. Its LINUS!!! :) I love Linus and I have never met him but he was part of the wedding planning the whole time – he was even on the first round of the rsvp postcards and I am sure he helped with the bobble-head Obama in getting all of the invitations stuffed and in the mail! How fun are these???
Other talented artists and vendors who played a role in the wedding are Chris from DJ on the side, Sir Chocolate who created their delicious chocolate fountain and their wedding planner Nicholle of N.E. Events by Nicholle. Thanks to Kellie and Zach for including me with all of these wonderful artists and vendors to create such a beautiful day. I am just thrilled to be a part of it!
Thank you again to Valerie Demo for capturing it so beautifully… I really appreciate you.
xo, Jenn
